Fay’s are an animal human hybrid that overshadow the human population, most fay have advanced skills or abilities that make them more desirable for employment. A bear fay may make for a better builder due to its amazing strength or a dog could be a detective due to its heightened senses. Simply put, human workers are not as valued as their fay counterparts.
 
Trini and Mia both live in a world where fay dominate the working class and human are consistently despised, as a result, they have taken to hiding there true, human identity. Trini has worked hard to climb the ranks of the police academy she is employed at, but is finding it harder for her human body to keep up with demand. She is willing to do anything to advance her carrier while keeping their secret safe.
